- Black Friday online shopping reached a new record high in 2024. Adobe Inc. reported on Saturday that Americans spent approximately $10.8bn online on Friday, a 10.2% increase from the previous year. Makeup, Bluetooth speakers, and espresso machines were among the top-selling items.
- According to Adobe, online shoppers spent $11.3 million per minute between 10am and 2pm on Friday.
- According to Mastercard SpendingPulse, U.S. e-commerce sales saw a robust 14.6% year-over-year increase, while sales at brick-and-mortar stores grew a modest 0.7%. In-store shopper traffic declined by 8.2% compared to Black Friday 2023.
- Salesforce, which tracks spending across different categories, estimated U.S. online sales reached $17.5 billion on Friday, up 7% from last year. The company noted increased demand for home appliances and furniture.
